Match Report
Gritty display!
The Rovers produced another good performance on a really difficult day for playing football with a strong wind and a poor pitch. Mateo opened the scoring by seizing on the rebound from his earlier effort and rocketing the ball into the bottom corner, his first goal of the season. Jack O doubled our lead by following up on a rebound from the keeper and smartly placing the ball into the net and from then on it was a matter of how many? First Ollie and then Jack G ensured joy in the Goodin house by extending our lead to 4-0 at half time.
The second half saw us play more flowing football and alhough we added three more goals from Jack G and Bradley (2) it could have been many more with the "hitting the woodwork" count more than 5 and their goalie having a great game to deny Brads, Ollie, James, Jack and Ish and Jack M having one disallowed. Jack O pleased his manager by pulling off a "spin and run" throw (one from training!) and Max danced in goal to keep warm.
MOTM - Mateo. Intelligent use of the ball in the first half and a great goal to get off the mark for the season.
