Match Report
On a pitch resembling Derby County's old Baseball Ground, Ashtead struggled to break down a packed Horsley defence and were indebted to some outstanding goalkeeping from Connor Northeast to keep them level. Ashtead slowly broke free and attempted to knock the ball around but mainly watched it stick in front of them. Eventually Harry Steer found an opportunity to tuck the ball in from a tight angle and soon followed it with another.
A mix up in the, otherwise outstanding, Ashtead defence allowed Horsley to finally sneak one past Connor Northeast but Ashtead continued to work hard as a team and deny Horsley any space. The hard work finally paid off as Harry Steer crashed the ball into the top corner past a static Horsley goalkeeper, which allowed Ashtead to relax and finish the game in style with 2 further goals from Harry Steer.
Five goals from Harry Steer, a commanding performance form Connor Northeast and immense hard work and effort from all rest of the squad enabled Ashtead to walk away with a hard fought but deserved win.
