Match Report: Under 15 Athletic v Staines Albion: 2 - 3 Home Loss (League)

Athletic arrived nice and early. The formation was going to be 4-1-3-2, with Connor Saunders in goal (our usual keeper was away for the day). 

Matt won the toss and we decided to kick downhill for a change. First ten minutes were very tight, either team could and should have scored, then we fell asleep, allowing to very sloppy goals (straight through the middle). We still kept pushing for a goal and got our reward, a great poachers goal by Max Thibaut, after some great play by Harry Fennemore and Oliver long.

Staines had a lot of corners, that we defended very well, but just before half time they produced a great corner which was almost un defendable (they scored from it).

Half time

Second half was uphill which seemed to suit us very well. It was one way traffic for the whole of the second half, and Staines were tiring, while Athletic were getting stronger and stronger. 

A fantastic goal by Harry Fennemore made the last 15 minutes very interesting, with only one team going to score. Unfortunately we couldn't quite get the goal we needed
