Match Report
Hard Graft!
Well, this wasn't the easy, routine win that was expected and all credit to Walton for putting up a spirited performance. Despite starting well we found ourselves behind to a long range effort that sailed high over Lorcan and into the net. We didn't feel sorry for ourselves though and Max equalised with a well taken shot from the right of the goal before Ben put us ahead following another smart break with a calm finish with just the keeper to beat. The second half saw Ish force her close range effort in after another typical storming run into the box and Max notched his second of the match with a good penalty.
This performance didn't quite reach the heights of what we have come to expect this season, but the team kept going and tried to play passing football. Maybe it was the different formation with only 8 players or that this forced me to play some in unfamiliar positions. Walton's focus on defence certainly frustrated our attack. What isn't in doubt is that they all tried their best and displayed a great attitude. Good kids.
