Match Report
Old Chinese Proverb: Never sit back and admire your work as someone may do it better!
Phew, that was hard work. The Rovers stormed into a 3-0 lead before half time courtesy of two stunning strikes from Max and James and a third from Jack O. Then the deck chairs came out, copies of Guns and Girls were handed round and the whole team went to sleep allowing Farnham to register their first goal just before half time. This should have been a warning that we heeded, but a lacklustre second half display saw Farnham reduce the deficit again.
In truth, we continued to create and waste a host of chances and should have run out comfortable winners, but it was a relief when the final whistle blew. The highlights, cracking strikes, some really good passing moves that showed the quality we have, Nick was excellent in defence and the team showed a determination not to get beat although we weren't playing marvellous. Putting the nets up looked a pretty slick operation as well.
Like Anita once said to me one night, you can do more than just enough! Learn from it team, we don't want to lose games through lack of effort.
MOTM - Jack O. Led by example in the second half with a determination not to get beat. Jack battled and harried and ran his little socks off.
