Match Report
You don't always get what you deserve!
The Rovers battled their way to a draw this morning in a match they really should have won by half time. The first half saw us carve open their defence time and again with some great through balls for the two Jack's to run on to but a combination of good goalkeeping and poor finishing saw us heading to half time a little frustrated. This was compounded when the Harriers scored with their only chance of the half in what I think is called "Fergie time"!
We started the second half brightly and whilst this half was a bit more balanced, it followed a familiar pattern of us creating numerous chances only to be thwarted by the Harriers 'keeper and his defenders. With the clock ticking down Brads was released on the left and saw his shot saved again only for Ben to slam home the rebound. A well taken goal and relief all round. Sadly we couldn't conjure up a winner.
The boys played really well this morning. They could have let frustration at the scoreline take over but they kept plugging away and played some very good passing football. We were always going to leave some gaps at the back as we chased an equaliser, but both Brads and Jack had very little to do in goal and that is a mark of how well we played. I am sure our shooting boots will arrive from Sports Direct this week!
MOTM - Harry Froude. Poked, prodded, stretched a leg, tackled and passed well all morning. Good combination play with Mateo and understood exactly what I wanted him to do.
