Match Report
This was the first game for us in about six week because of all the bad weather so we went out knowing that mistakes were going to be made and fitness would ont be as it was so not to get on each others backs about it, Ashtead started off really well we dominated pretty much the whole game making plenty of chances to score and the back four (Richard Howes,Greg Jones,Pat Adams and Ben Askew) dealt with pretty much anything that was thrown at them and if not Ian Cobbett pick up the pieces pulling off two good saves.
Even though we had not played for some time the passing i thought was very good. Our 1st goal came from a good cross on the right wing from Joe Greetham Chris Cox got a foot to it, keeper made a good save it came off him and Chris was there with his head to put it in 1-0 Ashtead.
The rest of the 1st half stayed as1-0 , 2nd half we played some good football and now going down hill, for a period in the second half we got a bit sloppy down to people starting to get tired but then we got a second wind. The 2nd goal came from Max Omo who got played a great ball through to him from Jay Greetham and he went on a run took a shot it hit the post and went in 2-0 Ashtead, during the celebration Jay had to be subbed for Terry.
Soon after we started to play the ball around again then lost it, Terry won it back played it to me, I played it to Dan Ovenden who crossed it to Max Omo who was one on one with the keeper and put it past him 3-0 Ashtead. I then subbed my self for Dean Rushdon and we saw out the game to the end without conceding a goal. It was a good game and a diserved win now in the next round of the cup.
