Under 12's C

The last game of the season for the Colts saw us play Woodmansterne Hyde who narrowly beat us 3-2 at their ground previously in the season. We knew this was a game we could win but only having 11 players available was going to be tough with no subs to rely on to give some of the lads a break.

Game started very evenly with good football from both teams. Colts set up a very good defense with Connor, Daniel, Callum & Harrison with a good midfield with Harry F, Harry B, Max B and Max T with a lone striker with Dean. Chances were very few as both teams were strong in the middle of the pitch but a scrappy goal to Woodmansterne just before the break saw Colts go in at haltime 1-0 down. After the halftime talk, we moved Daniel up into Midfield and dropped Max B back into defence. With a strong wind in our favour, we had to play long balls over the top for Dean to run onto who had 2 very good chances of equalising but a break saw a shot from outside the box from Woodmansterne sail over the top of Luke to make it 2-0 which to be fair was against the run of play. Solid performance again this week from Callum in defence who seems to have found his feet as a Centre Back and kept strong in every challenge. After another break down in Woodmansterne attack, Callum picked up the ball and played a lofted ball over the top of the defence and Dean with his pace took it away from the defence with only the keeper to beat which 3rd time lucky he put away with great low shot. Colts were up and running and back in the game, shots from Jordan and Daniel narrowly missed the target and we could have easilly have taken the lead but another break for Woodmansterne saw a scrappy goal cross the line to make it 3-1.. Woodmansterne had 3 efforts on goal and converted all 3 which is where we've lacked all season.

A great display from everyone this week who played with the hearts and showed everyone that we can play good football. All of this seasons results havent been that bad apart from one but we just needed to convert the chances we've had in front of goal. We finish the league in 6th place.
